Ingredients
Honey Pecan Spread
- 5 1/3 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
- 2 tbsp. local honey, plus more for garnish
- 2 tbsp. pecan halves, chopped
- 1 French baguette, cut into ½” thick slices and toasted
- bourbon bacon (below)
- 1/2 c diced Cosmic Crisp apples
- 1/4 c toasted pecans
Bourbon Bacon
- 1 lb bacon
- 4 tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp. bourbon
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
Instructions
Honey Pecan Spread
- With a mixer, beat the cream cheese and honey.
- Fold in the pecan pieces by hand.
- Spread onto toasted baguette slices.
- Top with bourbon bacon, toasted pecans and apples.
- Store the spread in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 6 days.
Bourbon Bacon
- Mix maple syrup, bourbon, brown sugar and mustard in a bowl.
- Coat bacon in the mixture.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment or foil and a baking rack.
- Place bacon on top of the rack and bake at 350 F for 15 minutes.
- Flip bacon and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until it starts to stiffen.
- Let cool before cutting into small pieces.
